RokDoc Pore Pressure Calculator

Shale Trend Calculator

To ensure pressure prediction is performed on correct lithologies, use volume logs to filter well curves. Spacing and thickness parameters can be defined per user defined zones on single wells or on multiple well data to define regional trends.

Plug-in Overview

This plug-in provides an all-in-one workflow tool for calculating pore pressures from measured well data. The three trend calculators let users derive trends from log curves which can accurately represent the real geology. These calculators provide the inputs to the pore pressure calculator which uses 4 methods (Equivalent depth, Eaton exponent and Bowers (with or without unloading)).

Specifications

  • Based on, and linked to, the industry-reference RokDoc platform
  • Backed by Ikon’s global support network (14 offices)
  • Identical functionality to RokDoc enables users to leverage experts as required
  • Sessions are saved in Petrel and may be reactivated at any time
  • Operates with Petrel* 2014/15 on MS Windows 7, 8 or 10.

Features

Calculations can be split into zones using RokDoc Plug-in’s shared ‘Working Intervals’, stratigraphic zones with log based filtering; output trends reflect true nature of a changing geology with depth. Each calculator (or RokDoc PressureView session) can be tabbed or floated so that we can make iterative changes to any stage of the workflow and realise the changes.
