Microseismic Evaluation

Introducing Microseismic Evaluation

Microseismic Evaluation plug-in for Petrel is part of an integrated environment through which geoscientists, stimulation, and production engineers can interact to provide hydraulic fracture geometry interpretations, combining microseismic event locations with pumping information and other reservoir characteristics.

Plug-in Overview

Microseismic Evaluation integrates the workflow to understand fracture geometry and stimulation effectiveness or to assess geomechanical stress relaxation as gas or fluids are produced or injected. It provides many features, tools, and plots to the Petrel platform for microseismic events and pumping data.

Specifications

  • Dashboard display collecting all information associated with Microseismic event sets in a project
  • Fracture creation and manipulation
  • Estimated Stimulated Volume
  • Tool for merging or sub-dividing event sets
  • Create event set by surface(s) or from selected events
  • Convert Microseismic event set to a pillar grid model with event attributes
  • Rose diagram
  • Magnitude versus distance plot
  • Hydraulic diffusion (R-T) plot
  • b-value analysis
  • Cumulative seismic moment log by depth or time
  • Real-time interpretation workflow
  • Visualization of monitoring survey – sensor array and calibration shot

Features

Microseismic projects can be integrated, visualized, and interpreted. The tools provide the means to easily interpret variations. Interpretation tools such as fracture creation and event attribute populated an earth model provide the means to relate microseismic data to reservoir.
