WebSim gives user unique opportunity of modeling fluid flow in hydrocarbon reservoir just in the web browser. You needn't have any specific software or knowledge of simulator keyword file format. Models are built and run on-line, results are displayed in your browser with capability of download to your computer. Models are built using special wizard, that guide user through the process of model creation. Once model is built it is executed on the server - remote computer on which reservoir simulator is installed. Simulator is 3D 3 phase black oil modeling program. During model execution, all reports from simulator are forwarded to your web browser screen. When simulation is finished, you are able to view color scaled 2D plots of pressure, oil, water and gas saturation grids, dynamically changing as you move the time step selector on web-page. Basic well and field graphs (oil, water, gas) are displayed. Remote computer capable to execute different models from many users at the same time. To avoid overloading with multiple models each of multi thousands blocks size of the model is limited up to 3000 grid blocks. Web based wizard enables user to built models of the following types:
- Symmetrical element (pattern) models for injectivity and displacement performance studies
- Radial models for coning studies
- Cross-sectional models for vertical sweep efficiency studies
- Hydraulic fracture modeling for fracture performance studies
Though rather simple, this set of modeling capabilities covers broad range of cases and enables user to master basic skills of reservoir simulation and enhance understanding of reservoir processes.
