Gravity Magnetic Modeling and Inversion toolkit
3D property modeling
3D property modeling allows initial models to be used, such as 3D property. Image 1 shows a “true” model. Image 2 show an initial model ( “paleo feature” removed). Image 3 shows standard deviation of the initial model. This model does not allow initial values to be changed close to wellbores—biggest changes will be far from the wellbore. Image 4 shows the final inversion result (target feature restored).
Plug-in Overview
The plug-ins included in the toolkit enable forward modeling and inversion to be performed based on fast calculations in the wavenumber domain for huge models. Three main techniques included for inversions: express method (calculation of the density contrast cubes without initial model), density correction, and structure position correction in initial model.
Specifications
- Fast forward and inversion modeling for huge models based on fast calculations in the wavenumber domain.
- Express inversion allows very fast estimate values and possible position of the density contrast in volume, without using any prior information.
- Inversion with initial model controlled by maximum density (or structural position) model and minimum density (or structural position) model.
- Maximum and minimum models have the same 3D distribution, such as initial model, and allow possible changes to be controlled from zero near wellbores until maximum changes in deeper layers.
Features
The toolkit includes three plug-ins:
- Express Interpretation—works with density cubes such as input (forward modeling) and output (express inversion without initial model).
- Layers Forward Inversion—uses initial model based on layers definition. Inversion allows density correction in the layers or structural position correction.
- 3D Property Modeling—used initial model based on 3D properties
