POPULATE GRIDS WITH PETROPHYSICAL PROPERTIES IN A GEOLOGICALLY SOUND AND TRANSPARENT WAY
HUTTON is a modern petrophysical property modelling tool, designed to make the process by which we identify trends and populate our reservoir grids with continuous properties intuitive and geologically sound. HUTTON makes this possible using a single streamlined display developed by Cognitive Geology for both Petrel and JewelSuite
SINGLE TRANSPARENT INTERFACE
The HUTTON interface allows the user to identify genuine trends in upscaled well log data along common geological processes (strike, dip, depth, stratigraphy etc) from one single interface. These can be applied and the effect on the remaining data seen immediately to identify other trends within an interface that makes the impact of those decisions clear.
A FOCUS ON THE GEOLOGY
Analysis of this sparse and biased data has many implicit solutions. By applying geological knowledge directly in HUTTON, the effect of random seeds and the variogram is minimised. Trends can be identified and applied without sacrificing expected heterogeneity. Correlative relationships between properties, and how they drift across the field, can be identified.
EXAMINE THE MOST LIKELY APPROACHES
The user can manually choose trends to apply or the patented TrendAware™ process can examine all possible trend sequences and rank their likelihood. The most plausible can then be easily chosen for export back to the grid.
