I have decided to share some simple modeling tools that I wrote in Python, in the chance that others may find it useful as well. They include PREMIUM_BLEND, that calculates oil, gas, and brine properties from input parameters, GASSMANNAGER, that does Gassmann substitution on a given reservoir rock for fluids and mixes from PB, and OBLIQUE, that calculates and plots the AVA response for the reservoir / pore fluid cases. I often found myself needing to come up with some simple models to understand the amplitude and AVA response for a reservoir, but often the fluid moduli and density were not provided in a data room setting. So, Premium Blend calculates fluid data as described in 'The Rock Physics Handbook', Mavko,Mukerji,Dvorkin, Cambridge Press. Gassmannager and Oblique allowed me to do the complete modeling process. All this works on my IPAD, laptop, or anything else, since I used a simple text-based user interface and standard plotting library. Please note that there is no commercial aspect to this software or its use. This is a simple nuts-and-bolts piece of software.
