Plug-in interface
The user has the option of generating attributes for either inline, crossline, whole cube or 2D seismic data. Output can be realized in ZGY format or can be saved directly in SEGY format.

The "Wavelet transformation tool" plug-in for Petrel provides tools for spectral decomposition of seismic data by Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) or Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT).

All possible options for spectral decomposition are included: The plug-in allows the user to perform wavelet transformation with six different algorithms. These are divided in two broad categories: Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) and Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT). Under the CWT group, the user has the option of choosing Morlet, Ricker, or Haar wavelets. These different wavelets have different properties that may be suited for different data and different frequencies. Morlet wavelet is suited for all frequencies, but produces poor time resolution at lower frequencies. Ricker wavelet has shown to produce better result with seismic data at lower frequencies.
