Availability of a software for pressure drop prediction of multiphase flow in wells with considering well conditions and accessing to its source code for future development, is one of the main necessities of oil industries in reservoir modeling. MTC tried to satisfy this requirement by developing VFP Simulator. VFP Simulator is a simulation program that rigorously models steady-state multiphase flow in oil and gas/gas condensate well systems. VFP Simulator is one of MAPSA company Software which is developed by “MAPSA Technology Center” for POGC as a client and its 2nd version has been released in April 2010. A primary task for a production engineer is to predict accurately the pressure and temperature changes that will occur in a pipeline or a well for particular sets of values of design parameters. Among other things, calculating these changes requires the knowledge of various transport and thermodynamic properties of the fluid(s) being produced over ranges of temperature and pressure which are sufficient to cover all of the conditions that might occur in the wells. VFP SIMULATOR combines a proven multiphase flow modeling algorithm and software analysis techniques to create a robust and efficient well flow modeling. With an extensive physical property data bank, and an intuitive user friendly user interface, VFP Simulator can be the simulator of choice for the world's oil and gas producing companies. Also this software integrates complex engineering calculations and practical constraints determine the optimal configuration. VFP Simulator has the capability of modeling the entire production system from the reservoir up to the processing plant. Also it contains some auxiliary calculations such as artificial lift, erosion velocity calculation and computation of minimum velocity to lift condensates.
