Palantir’s Field Development Planning Suite is a set of Excel based software applications that allow Planners to understand the various scenario and development options available to their portfolio of assets. The toolset augments Excel’s ability to perform advanced batch and sensitivity calculations, field development modeling, rig scheduling and portfolio optimization. The benefit is a system that has the flexibility, transparency and ease of use of Excel combined with the calculation power and data integrity of a standardized database.

WHY WAS IT BUILT

Palantir built the Field Development suite of software applications in response to the amount of time and money our clients were spending trying to manage extremely large and complex Excel spreadsheets. Our clients were building 100MB+ spreadsheets in Excel while attempting to answer complex questions around large and complicated fields with hundreds, or even thousands, of wells. Some of these questions include: How do we schedule, or manage several hundred wells into an existing rig program? What is the impact on our activity scheduling if we expand a facility, or add an additional rig line?
