PanMesh software can be used to simulate bottomhole flowing pressures for history matching to a well test data set, or to design a well test. Flowing pressures can also be generated at any point in the reservoir for interference test simulation. Because PanMesh software is a 3-D simulator, this includes vertical interference tests.
Since the PanMesh module is fully integrated into PanSystem software, it fulfills the same basic simulation objectives as the Quick and Advanced Simulators available in the PanSystem program in terms of model validation and test design and occupies a similar place in the workflow.
The use of a numerical simulator enables well test analysts to reach beyond the limits of analytical simulation in terms of complexity of reservoir structure and completion design. PanMesh software’s color visualization facility offers a deeper understanding of the nature of the transient response. By tracking the pressure as it propagates through the reservoir, it enables the analyst to see how changes in the model structure correlate with changes in the pressure derivative.
